Over the past month, we’ve worked hard on the stability of Joingy. With our quick rise in popularity of the new chat app, there were many unanticipated issues.
Today, we’re addressing questions that have appeared in our contact form. Then discuss the latest server-side updates!
Upon launch, there were occasional, yet annoying bugs with conversation timeouts. And this made partners unable to see your messages. It occurred for a single user in conversations, looking like partners abruptly left.
Also, there was a handful of relaying issues, which means conversations felt slow.
First and foremost…
These problems are now fixed!
It required extensive work by our engineers to remake a large part of Joingy’s code. Primarily, the partner matching system.
Unfortunately, this resulted in periodic downtime during the past few weeks.
But the good news is a variety of improvements:
All it took was a complete back-end overhaul. Worth it!
Many counter-spam measures are now included in Joingy after our initial release. Since the base concept of roulette chat sites attracts abuse, our team was ready to deal with it in real-time!
A feature we added that users may notice is our ‘Flag Spam’ button. Take note, this appears upon every completed conversation.
We’re not going into detail about how the mitigation works. But it’s now unnecessary to send in spam reports to our contact form.
So hit that ‘Flag Conversation’ button and know you’ve done your part!
Upon release, people have run into issues with accessing our video chat section.
For example, we receive reports of the entry button greyed out or blank black screens instead of cams. And these problems indicate that something on either user’s end is incompatible.
Don’t fret! – It could be a webcam isn’t plugged in or you’re blocking camera & microphone permissions.
So we’ve added troubleshooting options to our FAQs for those with video issues.
Fixing bugs and improving server stability was our main priority over the past month. Now that it’s in a great spot, we can look forward to adding features to Joingy and publishing great content!
